Let’s start a new Political Party-
I hate writing about politics-I really do. I scan through the online political blogs and the comments they receive and find that so much of what is written is one-sided and hateful. Everyone is heated, everyone is judgemental, and everyone, of course, thinks that they are completely and 100 % correct in their beliefs. It is frustrating to read all the negativity. Everyone is so angry and the party lines are so thickly drawn in Sharpie Marker that one doesn’t dare show bi-partisanship. It’s always that you are with us or against us mentality. How will we ever get together as a country if we can’t get along as individuals? Personally, I don’t know where I fit in. I am a Christian so people say I should automatically vote Republican but I am also a humanitarian, so that makes me democrat too. I sort of just vote from my gut all the time. Many people say: “How can you vote that way?” I don’t know-I guess I am too trusting or maybe naive. I just think it is the man (or woman) that makes a good candidate and not the party affiliation. I usually vote for the guy I like the best or hate the least. I am a woman without a party stuck walking atop a white picket fence balancing the best I can so I don not fall and be lanced by the sharp points below. So, what’s a girl to do? I guess I can form my own political party- but should I call myself a Repulicat, or a Demoplican? Surely there have to be others like me who hate the extremist point of view. Feel the same way I do? Please add your name and a comment if you wish too the comments box below-I would love to know that I am not alone in my frustration! God Bless America and everyone in it. =)
Oh and Please no hate mail!!! I am just a girl that is trying to get along. I am in no way bashing any political party–merely stating the fact that I am a little bit Country and a little bit Rock and Roll.

Hi. Thanks for this blog. I understand what you’re saying and here are my thoughts. I’m a humanitarian too, but I am a republican. I believe that you and I should choose who and what we would like to do with our money. We should give our time and money to those things that mean the most to us…the poor…the sick… The Constitution, that so many people sacrificed their lives for, is for a small government and by no means did they ever mean for the government to create a welfare state in which the people depend on the government for their well being. It is the people and church’s duty and commandment from God to do those things. If the government didn’t take so much of our money, we’d have more to do those things. BTW, are you prolife? If so, one of things Democrats are in favor of is paying for abortions using tax dollars. That’s a part of their “humanatiarn” policies. They even want to include partial birth abortions now. The thought any abortion paid partially by me, as a Christian and mother, and knowledge that life begins at conception as stated by God Himself, is very disheartening and makes me weep. I’m not trying to sould melodramitic, it’s just the truth. It makes me sick. But there you have it. Thos are my thoughts. I hope you find this useful.
Thank you for commenting. Your points are well stated and I do understand what you mean when you say that government has changed over the course of time. I am sure our policies are nothing like what they were back in the days. As for your question–am I prolife? I am prolife when it comes to myself–I could never do that. My heart does, however, go out to those who feel that they need to choose abortion in certain extreme circumstances. By extreme circumstances I don’t mean the young kid who got pregnant by accident-I mean those who have become pregnant through incest or rape, just one example. I don’t think that it is an easy choice for anyone to make and I don’t think that anyone really takes it lightly. It would be pure HELL to have to live with that choice for anyone and I think it mars you for life. I personally could not make that choice but for some, apparently there is no choice. I don’t feel its my job to condemn them. I leave the judging to Jesus. Someone from HUBPAGES made a valid point in one of their articles saying that for many years we have had Democrats (in the past) in office and they have not been able to pass the laws for abortion so she as a republican is not concerned with a democrat really running away with the vote. She has a good point and it is one that gives me a feeling of relief. Obviously their hasn’t been the necessary number of votes and hopefully there never will be (to legalize abortion). I saw a video explaining and demonstrating (with a doll) the process of partial birth abortion and it made me cry. I can’t imagine anyone wanting that for their child. Again, it isn’t a decision I would make-ever. Well, there u go, you made me talk politics– =) But at least we did so in a calm and rational manner. right? God Bless and I hope that your children are happy and healthy kids like mine! =)
For the first time in my life, I, too, am interested in starting a new political party. I googled the idea and was brought to your blog. Is this a semi-serious thought you’re having?
If so, please post more thoughts.
Thanks!
I know where your comming from. I’ve been trying to find 3rd parties but even they are way to extreme i just dont know where i belong im like an oximoron. I used to label myself as conserative democrate but now thiers such a liberal stand in the party i dont feel i belong thier. I like some of the republican issues and i always have voted on the issues and not a party. In my district i supported my republican congressman since he’s cared for are community even dough i was a dem. Its sad that this nation has gotten to the point that we dont vote for people or issues but just a party. Its realy sad day for are country and Washington was correct about the party system. God bless everyone.
